Ocean Hoptimism
Pete Guinosso at Ocean Hoptimism
Join Pete Guinosso, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Blue Harmony and Chief Friend Maker for the Caspar Cove Project, at Ocean Hoptimism on Thursday, December 17, 2026 for a conversation about all things Caspar Cove.
Pete will share the story behind the Caspar Cove Project, the challenges facing Northern California’s kelp forests, and how divers, scientists, volunteers, and community partners are working together to remove overabundant purple sea urchins and support kelp recovery.
The evening will also explore what the community has learned, the signs of hope emerging at the cove, and the long-term vision of helping restore a thriving underwater ecosystem — with the hope that one day traditions like abalone diving may return.
Come hear how one cove, one community, and many helping hands are showing what is possible when people choose to act with hope.
