The Purple Urchin Removal Program (P.U.R.P.) supports professional-scale purple sea urchin removal throughout Northern California. Working alongside commercial divers and restoration partners, PURP helps reduce urchin populations in priority restoration areas, complementing the community-based efforts taking place at Caspar Cove.

Their long-term monitoring programs provide valuable data that helps researchers and restoration practitioners better understand changes occurring beneath the surface and measure the effectiveness of restoration efforts.
