Caspar Cove is a place of hope.
Along much of the Northern California coast, kelp forests have been devastated by warming oceans, sunflower sea star wasting disease, and an explosion of purple sea urchins. These once-thriving underwater forests supported abalone, fish, sea stars, and countless forms of marine life.
At Caspar Cove, our community is helping change that story. Divers, volunteers, scientists, and ocean lovers are showing up to remove overabundant purple urchins, support kelp recovery, educate the public, and rebuild connection to the ocean.

Kelp forests are the rainforests of the sea.
